About the Artist

Georgia Teteris graduated from Upper Arlington High school, completed undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and received a Master's Degree in Journalism from Ohio State University in 1989. During graduate school, Teteris purchased her first watercolor brushes and student-grade pigments, and has been painting ever since.

Aside from two evening classes, Teteris is 100% self-taught in watercolor. A fact she takes pride in, knowing her style is largely uninfluenced and undiluted by outside sources. Teteris' paintings are marked by extreme saturation of color, bright and vivid. She showcases the warmer palette—golden yellows, wheat, toasty reds, brilliant oranges—set against cool blues and sap greens.

Teteris doesn't plan to “study” art in the future—the one arena she'd like to remain without rules. Instead, she hopes for artistic growth through practical application and personal experience, continuing an intuitive—almost reckless—approach to watercolor. Rich, inviting color, strong bold strokes—“No Fear” painting.
